Honey never spoils but will crystalize over time. This is proof of its purity. Crystallized honey is just as edible and delicious as liquid honey, but if you don’t like it in the crystalized form, you can soften it by adding heat.
Follow the below procedure to de-crystallize your Country Honey.
- Place your Honey jar in a ceramic or glass bowl.
- Heat water to a temperature between 40 to 50 °C
- Pour the warm water into the bowl with the jar of honey in it.
- Leave the jar of honey sitting in the bath, stirring occasionally, until the honey re-liquefies. Keep adding hot water to maintain the temperature of water between 40 to 50 °C
Honey jars usually take about an hour to de-crystallize.
